School days

In less than 8 hours this kid will be going to middle school. And he's so nervous he had trouble falling asleep.

I remember middle school. Although I eventually made it through, middle school was not the most fun experience. I remember feeling awkward all the time (I wanted so bad to be an adult, but still wanted to be a kid, too) I also remember how incredibly mean kids can be to each other. I so wish I could fast forward these next few years for him, but reality says I can't so I'll just pray that we muddle through semi-unscathed ( is that even a word???).

Back to me.... It just dawned on me my kid is really going to middle schoo! I CAN NOT BE OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE A KID IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. Plus this middle school kid has to catch the bus at 630 in the morning! 630 IN THE MORNING! Does whoever who does these bus schedules ever had to try to get an 11 year old out of bed before 9am? Apparently not!

*ps- gotta do this all again next year with K

Down at the Bonfire

The bon fire

It may just be a few pieces of wood and small fire, but that I actually got a fire going is amazing!

This may be my favorite picture of him lately!

We burnt made a few of these:

 Told a few secrets.....

Then SHHHH!!!

Look what Baylee found:

In the end Mr Toad decided to hop away (Very good decision on his part!)

Laptop is fixed! Here come the pictures!

July 4th 2010

I was just trying to get some pictures of the girls in their red, white and blue.  Everything was going great.....

The girls were really cooperating well and not complaining too much.   I managed to get a few good shots....

Then out of no where this happend:

The look on Kaycee's face when Murphy jumped on her was hilarious.  I'm glad I had my camera there to capture it!

Busy Weekend

Whew....what a weekend!

On Friday Baylee went to Lancaster, PA her Grammy, Pop-Pop and Taryn (her best buddy and cousin)  From her non-stop talking about it I think she had a terrific time!  Her favorite part was the water park and coming in at a close second was meeting the princess.

So being Baylee-less this weekend I put Conner and Kaycee to work.  There is a small coat closet near the front door and for about the last year it's been a complete mess.  The doors wouldn't even stay closed (I had to tie the door knobs together to get it to stay shut)
(This is so freaking embarrassing!)

But after about an hour of back breaking work and borrowing a couple shelves from Kaycee's closet, we have a new decluttered, organized closet!

Kaycee had three birthday parties to go to this weekend.  ALL of them involved pools and/or water.  She was so bummed that her broken arm kept her from swimming.  So I gave in and wrapped a trash bag around her arm and she had a smile from ear to ear when I came to pick her up.  That was worth all the craziness of this crazy weekend!

Listening

Sitting here in my living room listening to the sounds:

Air conditioner running-so annoying, yet I am thankful that we are able to afford central air conditioning!

Soft sleepy sounds of my two girls in their beds- they frustrate each other to no end, yet I bet if I peek in there right now B has crawled up in KC's bed as soon as my back was turned and they are snuggling.

C and his friend giggling like two school girls crushing on a boy- they are forever looking at, talking about and sorting their baseball cards, yet even in the mess of cards in C's room I hear the wavering voices of two young boys discussing their fears of going to middle school next year.

These everyday sounds are so common in this house, yet I am grateful for them all!

Dirty toes

The true mark of a great time at the fair!

Sunday night

I sure hope Baylee appreciates her big brother and sister (and sister's friend). Tonight they paiently watched an episode of Wonder Pets while waiting for their turn at the remote. Contrary to their behavior lately I think they really do love their liitle sis!
