School Days, School Days

So it's late October and we are well entrenched in the back to school routine so it is only apropos that I am just now getting around to posting pictures from the first day of school!  Maybe it's because I am actively trying to suppress the fact that my oldest kid is now in middle school....a big, bad 6th grader! (or more likely I've just been too lazy to upload the pics here!)

What's a brand new middle schooler with out big, bad 6th grade shoes?

AND he got to a ride to his first day of middle school with a ...........girl! (A 9th grade girl at that!)

Kayla's a doll and promptly had him giggling the entire way to school!

She and Conner share a 630am bus stop and she looks out for him everyday! And by looking out for him I mean teasing him mercilessly.

 Kaycee, oh Kaycee..........this outfit had been picked out for a full month before school started.  She had the headband, shoes and clothes all folded up together by her bed in July anxiously waiting for that first day.

Now the polka dotted sling....well that's another story for another blog post.

She actually has this very same reaction to whatever we are having for breakfast EACH and EVERY morning. 

She did manage a smile on her first day of preschool though

She gave me that crooked head smile and it was all I could do to not scoop her up and turn around and head back home so she could stay with me FOREVER!
