Ok sitting here waiting on Conner to finish up his homework so we can get the evening bath/bedtime routine over and I can have some peace....here's some stuff on my mind:
5th grade must be really tiring...Kaycee is sound asleep in her bed and has been there for about 2 hours. She had a total meltdown at dinner so I sent her to bed. She's been asleep since then! Oh, but she must have had some energy because she found it necessary to WRITE ON HER CEILING!?!?!?!? No words, just angry marks across the ceiling above her bed....we'll definitely have to deal with that...later when she wakes up...I'm enjoying the sibling rivalry free evening.
My step aerobics class teacher is the devil!!! I did an entire hour of step aerobics today and then she guilted us into staying for an extra half hour of ab work. I'm starting to think she enjoys seeing us in total pain!
This book burning "pastor" in Florida is why Christians get a bad rap in America. I absolutely can not believe the attention he is getting. But I am also extremely proud of other Christian leaders who have stepped up to the plate and reminded us all that this proposed act is not what Christ would want. Just the idea of burning books makes my heart hurt. It's not the big humongous acts of attention that He's called us to do....it's the small simple everyday acts of love and service that will win others to Him.
My chore chart is NOT working. No one is doing the things on the list. (well, except Conner, he's been pretty great about getting his stuff done) Need suggestions!!!
I am LOVING this weather! The 70 degree days and cool nights are why fall is becoming my favorite season. Conner and I played Frisbee out side this afternoon and I wasn't sweating by the time we were done.
My new phone (Motorola i1) is pretty darn cool! I still am not great at the touch keyboard, but getting better. Maybe soon I'll figure out how to blog from it??
Went to Thunder Over the Blue Ridge last week....AMAZING! Baylee curled up on her Pop-Pop's lap to watch the Thunder Birds do their thing

Saving a Picture
I took a picture of Baylee yesterday:
(Imagine an un-edited pic of B with a really serious face riding a scooter here...pretend I didn't forget to save the original pic)
It was kinda blurry around her face and the colors were pretty blah.
I haven't installed Photo Shop on my recently fixed lap top so I was limited to the fixes on Google's Picasa program. I started by using the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button which brought out a little more light in the photo. Then I used the "Sepia" button which gave the picture a brownish tone. I did like how B was not front and center in the picture, but it felt like too much blank space on the right side. When I clicked on the "Crop" button there were 3 different auto cropped options and I happened to LOVE the first one which really highlighted the serious look on B's face. I ended up with this:

This is one of my all time favorite pictures of her.
Turns out not all of my pictures have to be perfect and I don't even need Photo Shop to take a yucky picture and make it smile worthy!
Dinner 09-07-2010
It's Labor Day and I've celebrated in the best way I know how.....I've done nothing today, well besides THIS.....
That would be BBQ ribs, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy and cresent rolls. It's been a very long time since I've cooked a meal like this for my family. And now I know why......it's way too much work and although there's lots of ohhh's and ahhh's when I set it out it took me longer to prepare and cook and clean up than it did for them to eat it. Maybe we'll do it again next Labor Day??
